Hello! I’m Wen-Hsiu (pronounced wen-show), an illustrator and animator based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

My art journey started years ago on the internet, and it’s been an on-and-off relationship—like one of those toxic exes you just keep going back to. Looking back, I think I spent a lot of time trying not to become an artist (thanks, Mum). According to her, artists starve, and this should’ve just been a hobby. Clearly, I took that advice very seriously... by doing the exact opposite.

In May 2024, I lost my job and moved back home. Mentally exhausted and borderline existential, I probably should’ve started job hunting right away—but instead, I took a detour. I refreshed my Korean, self-taught myself Japanese (yes, I’m a bit of a language nerd), and told myself it was all for future career opportunities (sure, Wen, sure).

Somewhere between kanji drills and questioning my life choices, I picked up my iPad and Apple Pencil again. What started as a distraction turned into a realisation: maybe this whole art thing is worth giving a real shot.

So here I am, making things, trying not to starve, and sharing my work with the world.
