What is your Love Language? The 5 Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman have a special place in our book club's heart. We are a mix of Acts of Service, Words of Affirmation and Quality Time. In our 10+ years together, we have learned about each other through our book picks and book club meetings.
Here are the 5 Love Languages for Book Clubs
📆 Acts of Service-Booking the perfect location--The place where book club meets is so important and having it booked and all the details taken care of is a true act of love.
👐 Physical Touch- Hug greetings--We miss giving hug greetings but they will come back at some point. For now an elbow bump will have to do. (But there is nothing like a hug from a friend)
📖 Receiving Gifts-Getting the Perfect Book--Giving or getting the perfect book (or picking the perfect book). We also love to do a gift exchange around the holidays to share a book from our own libraries to our friends.
🗣 Words of Affirmation-Compliment the book--There is nothing like hearing that the book you picked was awesome. (Because of course it was, thank you for recognizing that)
👭 Quality Time-Book Club time--This one might be our favorite. Even during lockdown we still had Zoom book club. We need our friend time.
❤️ Love to all the book clubs out there.
