n8n.io is a free to use, actively developed no-code automation service that offers a self-hosted version as a Docker container. ServerAvatar is a cloud web server management GUI tool that supports Apache, Nginx and OpenLiteSpeed and allows users to spin up PHP-based web applications, including WordPress websites.

It was unclear — because it was never tested before — whether a ServerAvatar managed VM would allow Docker to be installed, and also if & how it could be made to run a Docker service that needed to be exposed to the internet via standard web ports.
It turns out that it can be done, and that it is relatively easy.
In this tutorial, I explain how I made things work for an n8n container, but the same principle can be applied to any other Docker service. One only needs to choose a non-conflicting public-facing port for the Docker service, configure a ServerAvatar PHP app to operate in Reverse Proxy Mode and map it to that port.
