Hi!
Today I decided to show you Podil (an ancient part of Kyiv). Not only on Twitter but here, in the blog. So I was browsing through hundreds of pictures on my phone, looking for Podil from that life (that life was a time before the full-scale war).
And you know what?
There were tons of pictures of me, the books I was reading, the topics I was interested in, and sometimes other people. I was so busy in that life. I paid no attention to the life around me.
A challenging project, personal trauma, a strong desire to build something gorgeous (it's about business), significant failure, constant learning (Chinese, history, culture, politics...). Non-stop. I was a non-stop person before Feb 24.
The war has stopped me.
Now my phone is full of pictures of the world around me. I became bigger than myself.
Of course, I don't want to tell you that the war is a good thing. It's a terrible thing. It's a disgusting thing. It's something that should never repeat.
I have this new me and need to put her here. This person that can now see something more than her own life.
And I want to share some pictures with you.
This one was made on Aug 21, 2019 (at Podil, yesyes, I've found). It's me, by the way.

This one - on Feb 24, 2022 (my window view on the first day of the war)

Strange post (letter) today.
Please take care & look around you.
Yara (or Yaroslava)
