Sostieni John Lilley

Hi, I’m John. Photographer, naturalist, technologist, and lifelong observer of the quieter corners of the natural world.

I created Vi Natura as a long-form photographic study of the UK’s wildlife and night skies — an attempt to move beyond simple identification and capture something closer to presence, atmosphere, and connection. From woodland birds to distant nebulae, the project is rooted in the idea that nature is not just something we look at, but something we belong to.

Alongside this, I’m building WarbleUK.com, a playful bird song quiz designed to help people reconnect with British birds through sound, curiosity, and a little friendly competition.

Everything I create sits somewhere between technology and stillness: photography, storytelling, apps, fieldcraft, learning, and the simple belief that the natural world can make us healthier, calmer, and more aware of our place within it.

If you enjoy the work, your support helps fund field time, equipment, app development, conservation-minded projects, nature immersion and countless early mornings waiting for good light and birdsong.
