Ambitious Wielder

Wield what you dare. Ambitious Wielder lets any character hold any melee weapon in the off hand: a
longsword beside a longsword, a greatsword with a shield, even a greataxe in each hand. It isn't
free, though. Like the tabletop, the cost is Disadvantage, and it goes away as your character trains
  and grows stronger.

Inspired by the Monkey Grip feat of 3rd-edition tabletop rules, rebuilt the 5e way: no stacks of
minus-to-hit, no AC tax, just Disadvantage that you earn your way out of.

  THE RULES

  - Two Light weapons: no penalty, as in the base game.
  - A Heavy weapon held in both hands: no penalty, as in the base game.
  - Two weapons that are not both Light (for example two longswords): off-hand attacks have
Disadvantage unless you have the Dual Wielder feat. Two-Weapon Fighting still adds your ability
modifier to off-hand damage, as before.
  - One Heavy weapon in one hand, with a shield or a weapon in the other: Disadvantage on attacks
  below Strength 15.
  - A Heavy weapon in each hand: Disadvantage on attacks unless you have the Dual Wielder feat and
Strength 18. No character starts there. It's a build you commit to.

Great weapons become Versatile: in two hands they keep their full damage die, and in one hand they
use the smaller one-handed die. Every greatclub, including the +1, +2 and unique ones, counts as
  Heavy.

  HOW IT WORKS

  - Penalties appear as a status on your character (Clumsy Off-Hand, Overburdened Grip, Overburdened
Titan), so you always know why you have Disadvantage.
  - The first time a character takes a Heavy grip, a message explains the rules.
  - Everything updates automatically when you equip or unequip, swap weapons, level up, change
Strength (potions, buffs) or load a save.
  - Penalties apply to your party. Enemies are unaffected.

  REMOVING THE MOD

  1. Out of combat, cast Prepare to Remove Ambitious Wielder (every party member has it). Off-hand
weapons the base game doesn't allow go back to the inventory, and every Ambitious Wielder effect is
  removed.
  2. Save your game.
  3. Disable or remove the mod, then load that save.
Changed your mind? Cast the spell again to turn the mod back on.

  COMPATIBILITY

  - No Script Extender needed.
  - Changes the stats of the base game's Heavy weapons and greatclubs (to make them Versatile and
Heavy), and their weapon templates. Other mods that change the same weapons may conflict, and
  whichever loads last wins.
  - Adds a passive to every character through the base character stats (_Base and _Hero). Mods that
replace those same passive lists may conflict.
