Waiting For My Love
Reliving my moment of dying:
drowning in the river
that I had been crying.
My memory was lost
in the mist,
as far as I can remember.
Love has lost its value.
Nothing is the same
except my name.
Why can't I die
with all of my feelings?
Why can't I live like you?
I do wonder
what I've done to deserve this.
Every street leads straight to your door.
The light of the stars
is burning holes in your ceiling.
In between heaven and hell
is all I've been feeling.
Do I drive you crazy
when I open the cupboard?
Do you feel uneasy
when I flicker the light?
You're all I keep seeing!
Will you call my name?
Tell me that I still exist!
Tell me this is all a game!
The words of the priest
before they carried me out:
"He still had everything:
his youth, the woman he loved,
hope, strength, and pride."
Yet here I lie,
below the ground;
to earth I’m bound.
Devoid of tones.
Wood, dirt, and bones.
Away from the sun
and the light of the moon.
Your time will come;
I'll see you soon.
