Blight

Innocent and free.
Careless like the wind.
Blue eyes that couldn't see.
Clouds would pour out pain.

And then I could not stay.
Like dust gets wiped away.
I was stripped of joy and pride.
A special place where we can hide.

Try to fight off superglue
as my arms stick to your back.
It's true; the clue was new. I knew
that clouds do pour out pain.

There's always a way out,
for when you think you've bled enough,
and as I ran, my eyes confirmed
that the world is mean and tough.

For a boy who's changed and free,
there's a special place to hide
from the pain that's pouring out.
For his loved ones, he had died.
