Upon arrival, Muun's dad's surprised expression reveals underlying family tensions. Notably, Muun is only 14 and primarily lives in a boarding school, courtesy of his wealthy father.
However, Muun's dad seems to have preferred him staying in the boarding school, hinting at deeper family issues. This becomes clearer considering Muun's mother went missing after an accident involving her and her husband, mirroring the fate of Benon and his siblings.
Another significant aspect is Muun's dad, Satoshi, disliking Morina for one specific reason, evident in the chapter. Interestingly, Satoshi deeply loves his wife despite societal disapproval of their intercultural marriage, which fuels the rumor Morina mentioned earlier.
Set in 1999, the story highlights the challenges of interfaith relationships, particularly with Morina being a devoted Catholic in a predominantly Shinto community. Fortunately, Muun accepts her for who she is, even suggesting she convert to Shinto to ease tensions with his dad.
