Über John Viet-Triet Nguyen
Social Justice has been an inspiration behind alot of my actions and my creative work. So many voices need to be amplified and advocated for. I get bummed thinking about how most humans make no effort to be curious and explore and discover the world as there is so much to learn and so much to be immersed in. There's alot of chaos now, but there's so much to celebate and be joyful about. Feeling much gratitude for what the universe has given me so far! Thanks for your support! -John
Official Bio:
My name is Viet-Triet, my legal birth name, but you can call me John. My middle name is Hoa. Nguyen is a common Vietnamese surname, pronounced similarly to "win."
I am an award-winning multidisciplinary graphic designer and artist with 15+ years of experience in the creative industry, working on both the client and agency sides. My passion for the arts began in early childhood, exploring painting at a young age. As a teenager, I discovered graphic design, which became my focus during college.
Much of my work is inspired by different cultures, social justice, and the spontaneous joys of the universe. My current motivation is to create work that amplifies voices that need to be heard—especially LGBTQIA+ and AAPI communities.
I have worked with global brands such as Taco Bell, Penguin Random House, Nickelodeon, and Hot Topic. My experience spans both agency and client-side roles, and I hold a BFA from California State University, Fullerton. My work has been featured in publications including Out Magazine, AdWeek, and LGBTQ+ Nation.
I currently reside in Southern California, USA. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, playing Pokémon GO, and watching films across all genres.
Countries I’ve traveled to: Vietnam, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Sweden, Argentina, Indonesia, Singapore, Cuba, Thailand, and Costa Rica.
Bucket List:
• Swim alongside a manatee.
• Travel to all seven continents.
• Produce honey and care for my own beehive and bee colony.
