I found a solution
It all started when I found the answer to a big, long-term problem of mine: people watch my videos and remember the people in the videos, but they forget about me.
The solution came in the form of Oren John's YouTube video about how to create a "living portfolio." It's a tool for every creative professional whose work does not show her/his/their face.
You thought the answer was going to be 42, right? After all, the answer to the "ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything," in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is 42.
Oren's recommendation:
Step 1: create and post behind-the-scenes videos that show your face
Step 2: create a monthly newsletter that keeps people updated about your work
This is what I did:
Edited footage that had been languishing on my phone for over a year.
Made accompanying behind the scenes videos.
Found a place where I could put the videos together and add more details. I called it a film festival.
Created a newsletter.

That's exactly what I did. I was called, and I said "Hell, no!" And then I ended up venturing fourth anyway.
