Sometimes Humans Need Adopting Too

Sometimes Humans Need Adopting Too

Aug 13, 2025

I am subscribed to many animal-related channels on social media. They're among my favorites. I have seen videos of animals doing amazing things, beautiful things, comical things. And sometimes I see humans doing beautiful things for the animals. My favorites are seeing the newly adopted dogs who literally hug their new humans. Most of these dogs who do this have never known what it feels like to be loved, to feel seen, to feel safe. Watching these videos not only pulls at my heart strings for the obvious reasons - how dogs are as close to God as you can get and the beauty in someone coming in and helping an animal in need - but also because there are many hurting humans who have the same unmet needs: to feel heard, to feel seen, to feel safe.

Some humans need adopting too.

Young and old.

As many of you know, for months now I've been making phone calls and sending texts and emails to people from a variety of agencies, with my goal being to increase my income. Help with the job search. Help with schooling/new area of study. Help with promoting the writing works I already do.

I have logged a lot of research on my own, getting better help with AI than with real humans, which I find quite depressing. After reaching out to the public at large for months on end seeking help, I realized that was a dead end, and given most everyone was telling me to "go here" and "go there" - the agencies of the system - I decided TO "go here" and "go there".

At this moment in time it has been a complete waste of my precious time.

A drain on my energy.

And a burden on my mental state.

Today alone, I was bounced around yet again at one place, told "no" at another place AND a very long-awaited phone appointment that took me over 2 months to finally arrange ended with the woman not. calling. me. I waited by my phone for an hour. I e-mailed her. I called the agency in which she works and left a very assertive message.

No. response.

You know how that makes me feel?

Invisible.

Unseen.

And mad as hell at this point.

I have logically-oriented friends who will paint the logical picture, perhaps have me regroup and rethink my focus.

I have spiritually-aligned friends who will talk about energy alignments and talk about the new world coming.

Both sides have some good perspectives and some truth.

But they don't help me in the way I need.

Platitudes are the absolute last thing I need.

Because I don't need to rethink and regroup - that's what I've been doing all along.

And I cannot and will not wait for "out there" to change for the better.

Nope.

I need someone who will be reliable.

Someone who will hear me and see me and say "I am going to help you, I am going to ask you what you need, I am going to respect that, I am going to have your back and I am going to stand by your side until you get that help".

Say it.

Mean it.

And prove it with action.

Someone with heart who will see me the same way these lovely people who adopt dogs (of which I have been in the past).

Because, you see, sometimes, humans need adopting too.
