I was going through my e-mail box tonight, removing old emails no longer needed. I typed in the word "holly" to clear out the emails from a work at home newsletter I belong to created by a woman named Holly. What came up took me down memory lane as the search engine brought up emails with the word "holy" going back over 15 years. Included was a former newsletter I used to subscribe to on gratitude.
Holy gratitude.
The two terms go together well, don't they?
The art of being in that state of gratitude is indeed a holy experience. Going within to feel the stillness and grace of the Divine.
After signing back up again for the newsletter, a poem began going through my mind on giving thanks. I'd like to share it with you tonight. If you don't engage in this practice, and I admit I stopped too long ago, give it a try. It's a simple but powerful experience that changes you from the inside, showing up with new beauty on the outside.
Give Thanks
Give thanks for the bed upon which you sleep
for it provides you rest so deep.
Give thanks for the eyes that look in the mirror
allowing you to see your Soul clearer.
Give thanks for feet that walk upon the ground
enabling you to get around.
Give thanks for the smiles that come your way
reminding you that you are here and seen for another day.
Give thanks for the breeze that caresses your face
nudging you to be still and hold space.
Give thanks for the bread found upon your table
the nourishment leaving you content and able.
Give thanks for moments great and small every day.
And you will see your life Bloom in a new, beautiful way.
