Über Van Hope Comedy
in need of coffee!
Ivy Anne Van Hope is an author and comedian, in Portland, Oregon.
Ms. Van Hope began writing at a very young age, aspiring to publish and share her ideas with the world through print, a love that has spanned five decades.
While Ms. Van Hope has written in many genres, from science fiction, to children's stories, to fantasy, she has always considered her genre of choice to be horror and thriller.
When not writing, Ivy Anne enjoys travels in the Gorge, and the Cascades where she is from. When asked if she prefers the beach or the mountains, she replies, “Old Vulcan proverb says: Only Nixon can go to China.” She laughs, delightfully giggling, “Anyone can go to the beach, but not just anyone can hike in the mountains.”
Apart from horror, comedy has always been a passion of Ivy Anne’s. With a sharp wit, and an articulate sense of humor, she often expresses that to understand comedy you have to understand laughter and tears are synonymous. “Combining two very different genres like comedy and horror is similar to melding two opposites, love and marriage, together.”
