We are actively seeking donations to maintain and develop the user experience. Up to this point members of the MT have paid for this out of their own pocket and this is getting increasingly difficult to maintain. The United Kingdom Bunkers On The Air (UKBOTA) is an amateur radio award scheme that encourages radio enthusiasts to activate and communicate from historic bunkers across the UK. The program focuses on Royal Observer Corps (ROC) posts and other bunker types, promoting both historical preservation and portable radio operation. Participants, known as activators, set up portable stations at these sites, while hunters aim to make contact with them. Shortwave listeners (SWLs) can also earn awards by submitting reception logs. UKBOTA is part of the Worldwide Bunkers On The Air (WWBOTA) network, fostering international collaboration. The scheme is non-competitive, offering PDF certificates for achievements without maintaining leader boards. Resources like BunkerBase provide detailed information on bunker locations and logging tools, making UKBOTA accessible to both newcomers and seasoned operators.
