G9 UI Manager – Ultrawide
The ultimate UI positioning toolkit for World of Warcraft on ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors.
Playing World of Warcraft on a 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 at 5120x1440 (32:9) looks incredible. But the interface wasn't designed with such enormous displays in mind.
NPC dialogue windows appear miles away from your character. Tooltips get stuck at the extreme edges of your monitor. Carefully positioned windows reset when you restart the game. And adjusting your field of view or limiting the rendered gameplay area requires jumping between settings.
G9 UI Manager solves these frustrations by putting essential ultrawide interface controls in one lightweight addon.
Originally developed for World of Warcraft Forever 1.60.1, G9 UI Manager combines persistent window positioning, customizable tooltip placement, adjustable 3D viewport width, and native camera FOV controls.
Features
1. Persistent Window Positions
Move your windows once. Keep them where you want them.
G9 UI Manager automatically remembers the positions of supported Blizzard interface windows and restores them when you reopen them, even after restarting the game.
Supported windows include:
NPC gossip and dialogue
Quest acceptance and reward windows
World map and quest log
Character window
Spellbook
Macro editor
Merchant windows
Class trainers and legacy trainer windows
Automatic position saving can be enabled or disabled, and positions can also be saved or restored manually.
Works alongside BlizzMove, allowing you to drag supported Blizzard windows and preserve their positions across sessions.
2. Draggable Tooltip Positioning
Stop chasing item tooltips across your ultrawide monitor.
On a 5120x1440 display, default tooltips can appear uncomfortably far from the center of your screen.
G9 UI Manager lets you:
Display a draggable tooltip positioning marker
Move default-anchored tooltips to your preferred location
Remember the position across game sessions
Enable or disable custom tooltip positioning
Restore the addon's default tooltip location
Tooltip positioning applies to Blizzard tooltips that use the default anchoring mechanism. Explicitly anchored and cursor-following tooltips are not repositioned.
3. Adjustable 3D Viewport
Enjoy ultrawide gaming without being forced to render the game world across your entire display.
World of Warcraft's perspective projection can produce noticeable distortion near the edges of extremely wide monitors.
G9 UI Manager provides an optional adjustable viewport that lets you narrow and center the rendered 3D world while maintaining your native desktop resolution.
Features include:
Adjustable viewport width
Centered 3D world rendering
Black side margins
One-click return to full-width gameplay
Independent UI positioning
For example, on a 5120x1440 monitor, you can choose a centered 3840x1440 gameplay viewport while keeping the rest of the interface available.
Full-width rendering is enabled by default. Viewport adjustment is completely optional.
The addon does not alter the game's underlying perspective projection.
4. Camera Field of View (FOV) Controls
Fine-tune your camera without leaving the addon settings.
Version 0.5.0 introduces native camera FOV controls for World of Warcraft Forever.
Adjustable FOV range: 50–90
Dedicated FOV slider
Displays selected and current FOV values
Apply FOV button to confirm changes
Restore the FOV recorded when the addon first loaded
Direct integration with the game's cameraFov setting
Dragging the slider does not immediately modify your camera. Changes take effect only when you click Apply FOV.
Camera FOV and viewport width can be configured independently.
5. Simple In-Game Configuration
No complicated configuration files or external UI frameworks.
Type /g9ui to open the settings panel and manage:
Automatic window position saving
Viewport width
Camera FOV
Saved window positions
Tooltip placement
The settings panel itself can also be dragged to a convenient location.

Why G9 UI Manager?
Most World of Warcraft UI addons focus on combat, action bars or unit frames.
G9 UI Manager focuses on a different problem: making the default Blizzard interface practical on extremely wide displays.
Instead of replacing your entire UI, it gives you control over where existing windows appear, where tooltips are displayed, and how much of your monitor is used for 3D gameplay.
Whether you're playing at 3440x1440, 3840x1440 or 5120x1440, the goal is simple:
Spend less time fighting your interface and more time enjoying Azeroth.
Feedback and Future Development
G9 UI Manager is actively developed.
Suggestions, bug reports and compatibility feedback are welcome, particularly from players using different ultrawide resolutions and monitor configurations.
Future improvements may include additional supported windows, more flexible positioning options and further ultrawide-specific customization.
Built by an ultrawide WoW player, for ultrawide WoW players.
