We’ve got the Radar tracking traffic. We’ve got the Ultrahuman Ring tracking my fatigue. But I’m missing the big one. The actual flight data.
Here is the idea: I hate manual logbooks. Every pilot does. I want to build a bridge where my Garmin D2 Watch talks to my TRMNL display.
I want to land the plane, walk into the briefing room, and see my flight path, max altitude, and flight time already rendered on my desk. No cables, no typing. Just magic.
The Problem? I can’t code this on a simulator. Garmin’s API is tough to crack, and I need the physical hardware to test the Bluetooth handshakes and build the plugin.
And as a cadet pilot about to start training in the US... I don't exactly have $1,400 lying around for a flagship watch.
The Goal: I’m crowdfunding the Garmin D2 Mach 1 Pro to serve as the development unit for this project.
If it works: I release the open-source "Auto-Logbook" plugin for everyone.
If the API is locked: This watch becomes my primary safety backup (GPS & Oxygen Monitor) for my solo cross-country flights.
