I will open this by saying a heartfelt thank you for supporting Tribunus Plebis Media, myself and Produce Kate. It meant the world to us. Truly it has been incredible to see so many who believe in this project enough to help us financially.
But the truth is that I have never truly been comfortable with this page. I never set out to do this podcast/media venture as a way to create income. Taking any money at all has always made me deeply uncomfortable.
I will leave this account open for a few days, perhaps a week. Mostly just to make sure everyone can click through the email and read this message.
I do not believe any accounts are due to charge in the next week, but I can't be entirely certain. So if you'd like to take the proactive step of deactivating or removing support on your end immediately, I certainly understand.
For a long time I felt that I wasn't providing enough content for anyone to contribute to the project but I have come to realize that this was never truly the problem. The problem was, ultimately, how I feel about this entire "patron" thing.
Unfortunately how I feel is anxious. It makes me anxious every time I think about a new episode and how I need to make it and get it out because of those BuyMeACoffee folks are waiting and they pay me. It makes me feel guilty for taking money, anxious for not producing fast enough, and all of this makes me not sit down and work.
In the end, I just need to delete this account for my own peace of mind. And this peace of mind, I hope, will result in more work - a goal which is paramount in my mind, I truly enjoy doing this podcast. But even if it doesn't result in more or better work, it's still the correct decision, in my opinion at least.
The podcast and YouTube channel WILL continue!
I do hope that all of you will continue following and listening and sharing our episodes. And liking and subscribing and whatever else wherever else you listen!

I will say I plan to do a bit more on YouTube with some shorter video content (maybe even with me on screen, how can you pass that up?) that I don't think works well as a pure podcast, so don't forget to subscribe on YouTube as well as the audio platform of your choosing!

Maybe at some point I will relaunch some sort of support site when I can guarantee a production schedule and feel less under constant pressure and, if I do, I hope you'll consider supporting us once again. But until then this page will be no more.
I will still sling some merchandise, so if anyone wants a t-shirt or sticker or mug, feel free. But the monthly subscriber stuff will end soon.
So, with all that said, I want to thank all of you for your generosity and support.
Seeing even one person decide to create an account and donate several dollars a month absolutely blew me away. That more than one person, someone other than my mother at that, believed enough in what we were doing here to give up monthly donations remains one of the most heartening events in my life.
I can't express how much your support and belief has meant to me over the past year or so that this account has existed. If you were here right now you'd see tears in my eyes as I type this. It isn't sadness, it's gratitude.
