I love Sundays. Not really because of anything in particular, but mainly because everything seems to slow down and take a breath. It seems like I have not had an actual day off for months, well.....two actually...so I decided to take a day off.
And here I am sipping cappucino and editing last night's work. But I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm enjoying the {slightly} cooler weather. The delicious pumpkin spice beverage {yeah, I know....I love it anyway}. The ability to sit outside in the shade with my dog and type all this to you, whether anyone actually sees it or reads it or not. I'm posting today simply because I am loving life and enjoying the process and I want to share all the love with YOU.
I'm posting to remind you that regardless of what the world is going through right now, in this moment, in this presence, you only have this moment to move through. Take a moment and just BE.
As an artist I often have the urge to keep pushing through all the muck and get stuff done. I have to constantly bring myself back to the present moment. The amount of work I want to accomplish will not create more time to experience life outside of the space of work. At the end of my life that will be what I regret the most.
It won't be the amount of work I didn't complete. It won't be the art I didn't manifest or the concept boards or the hundreds of other things that come with being self-employed. It will be the time that was not spent with family and friends and the love and attention my family needed but couldn't get because I was too busy hustling.
So for today, I am taking a moment and just enjoying the breeze, the dragonflies, being able to use a new keyboard I put together last night...my first by the way!....the fact that said keyboard actually works, creating just to be creating with no particular concept, and the lovely scent of Andouille and shrimp cooking on the grill.
And this amazing pumpkin spice cappucino that is giving me life and Autumn vibes. I am so ready for Fall! How do you spend your zen time?
