About Towards Better
By supporting Towards Better, you contribute to creating inclusive communities where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive. Your donations directly enhance our social enterprise model, enabling us to offer subsidized services and access to our 'Skills Bank.' This support allows individuals, families, and community organizations who might not afford our standard costs to benefit from our consulting, training, and developmental services. Together, we can foster valued roles, provide essential resources, and build a society that genuinely values diversity. Your contributions make a lasting difference in the lives of people with disabilities and our communities.
What Drives Us
At Towards Better, our mission is to create inclusive communities where individuals with disabilities are fully engaged in everyday life. Founded in early 2020 in Townsville, Queensland, we have partnered with thousands of people to foster positive change through meaningful inclusion. We collaborate with individuals, families, businesses, government entities, and various organizations to ensure people with disabilities are valued and included in community life.
Our Social Enterprise Model
Our Pathways Model focuses on providing individuals with disabilities access to active, meaningful, and valued roles in work, study, or business within welcoming communities. Through a cross-subsidy approach, profits from our primary customer services support those who cannot afford our standard costs, enabling us to offer low or pro bono consulting, training, and developmental services. Our 'Skills Bank' further enhances these efforts, offering resources for developing valued roles and competencies.
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to discover, connect, and mobilize the assets, skills, and passions of individuals, communities, and businesses to create inclusive environments where everyone is valued. We envision a world where communities authentically welcome the gifts, talents, and contributions of all individuals, leading to a better, more inclusive society.
