Hello, my name is Timm Bogner and I'm a farmer/gardener in Urbana, Illinois, USA. I created the Farm Data Relay System in order to solve a simple problem: I had to get my data from remote outdoor sensors and transport them to a distant office with WiFi connectivity. I devised a set of modular ESP-NOW repeaters to relay my readings. Later I added LoRa support due to popular demand and because... why not? There is room to expand FDRS to cover other new and unique wireless technologies as well.
After I started having fun with my little network of microcontrollers, I decided to share it with the world.
My goal for FDRS is not only to create and provide the communication system, but also to support and promote its use. Through my project, I hope to help open the world of agriculture to everyone just as Arduino has opened the world of microcontrollers to me.
