Hi, I'm the creator of the sail race dinghy timer app. Its a free app I've created in my spare time to help running and timing of dinghy races.
I had the idea for this during covid whilst doing OOD duty on my own with 30 odd boats. It was stressful (to say the least) trying to read sail numbers, capture times and write it all down on paper and I thought 'there must be an App for this'. It turned out there wasn't, so I decided to write one.
And whilst the concept is simple, click 'lap' as boats go by, it has turned out to be rather more complex with lots of edge cases to deal with. Multiple race modes pursuit/fleets, start sequences, multiple fleet starts, dealing with recalls, borrowed boats, unregistered competitors, water on screen, screen locks, and the list goes on, not to mention it has to be rock solid. Oh and I probably got a bit carried away in places too with cloud support and redundancy :)
So, if you appreciate the app and would like to support it with some beer/boat blimbling money, see below. Oh and if you just want to use it, thats fine too. Or if you fancy leaving a review on one of the stores, or sharing with others also good:)
