I have created this page for one reason and one reason only. To get help to a friend that needs it now, who has helped so many himself in the past including me.

For those of you who know me, you know iv never asked for money  before for myself, and rarely have done so for the many non-profits Iv volunteered so much time for. 

Time is something i can give, and have given a lot of, but money is something i have very little of myself. 

I have deliberately limited my calls for donations in the past, because I wanted people to see that if i did ask, it was for a very good reason and something very important to me. That day is today. 

The cause is not a charity or Org but a friend, a good friend. The kind of friend who although IV not seen in 14 years when i pick up the phone it's like we saw each other yesterday.

Nigel is whom I'm talking about and for any of you that have read my book, this is Nig, who is mentioned in the first chapter and who i was with the day of the Tsunami.

I met Nigel in Thailand in 2004. Perhaps three months before the indiscriminate Tsunami struck and changed everything.

 Nigel was working as an Underwater Videographer at the time, and lived with his Girlfriend and the many stray dogs he had adopted in a village a few miles up the road from where i was living at the time in Khao Lak.

I was in a little tent on the beach beside a massage parlour at the time, while i looked for work as a Diver.

Nigel having just met me, insisted i move my tent to the safer and more comfortable location of his garden. 

Which i did, and was even more grateful that i had, when the Tsunami absolutely obliterated everything where i had been sleeping in my tent previously, leaving almost no survivors.

The day and the month after the Tsunami me and Nigel were together almost all the time, and he put everything he had, and the money he had, into helping people. 

From buying fans for people in tin shacks in the Aid camps, to organizing fundraisers with Motorcycle clubs that rode 100's of Km to raise money for rebuilding schools.

Nigel did, and has always looked after others. Putting himself second to helping other people for as long as IV known him.

I left Thailand in 2008 and Nigel stayed already having made it his home.

He now has a loving wife and two beautiful daughters.

Sadly 3 years ago now, Nigel was diagnosed with Motor neurone disease (MND) and given 2 years before it took his life.

Being the fighter that he is in life, it was no surprise that he is already a year past the time he was given, but obviously things are getting harder and harder for him and his family.

 While they care for him as his body deteriorates, they struggle to be able to put food on the table and make ends meet.

On top of the problems he has already been faced with such as being unable to work, the governments not providing any assistance to him and his family, and not having the money for the equipment he now needs to function.

He is now losing his family home due to rent increases, caused by the influx of subletting in Thailand , and they don't know where they will sleep by the end of this month or where they will find the money to keep going.

Nigel and his family have no where to go right now,and need help to get shelter. Somewhere the girls are safe and somewhere adapted for Nigel's increasingly differcult day to day living, as his body but not brain wastes away. 

Such an incredibly cruel disease.

As things stand at the moment, they are struggling to buy food for their next meal. 

This on top of the horrid experience of MND.

I need your help! 

I need you, to help me ,help him.

His life is nearing its end. 

He shouldn't have to worry about anything now. 

Help me make sure that the time he has left he can enjoy with his girls and not spend it stressed, and struggling.
