Dear friends,
If you followed me during my time on Medium, you know how much I enjoyed interviewing writers and poets for a series called "Fireside Interviews" published in Scribe. I’m thinking in particular of my conversations with Sam Aureli, Sofia Isabel Kavlin, Caroline Mellor, and Ken Martin.
Today, my life has changed quite a bit. I’ve distanced myself from Medium, left the Paris area, and moved to Dinan in Brittany, where I work as a coffee roaster at a charming roastery just a stone’s throw from the city’s historic center. My life isn't the same anymore, but my love of writing, reading, and connecting with people has remained unchanged.
And now that I've just turned 40, something occurred to me…
Ever since I’ve been living in this magnificent region of Brittany—let’s be honest, the most beautiful in France—I’ve been taking in the scenery and meeting new people. Both at work and in my free time, I come across men and women from all walks of life. People of Dinan who are funny, kind, quirky, mysterious, intriguing, fascinating, and inspiring. People I’d like to get to know beyond a passing glance and a warm "hello," and reveal a little bit about them through a few words that I’ll share with you.
The idea is to get together over a cup of specialty coffee—specifically, a grand cru that I love to roast and enjoy using a gentle brewing method. The kind you savor because it’s rare. The kind that sticks with you, that you’ll never forget. The conversation will then be transcribed and published here on Buy Me a Coffee. I’ve already written the concept, chosen the name (as you have discovered), and thought about the first people I’d like to interview. With just a few details left to iron out, all I have to do is get started.
