About The Wobbles Project
Welcome to The Wobbles Project, a mission inspired by my journey and driven by a simple yet profound belief: that empowerment and resilience can transform lives, no matter the challenges. I’m Andrew Marshall, and I’ve lived with Friedreich’s Ataxia—a degenerative neuromuscular disorder that has profoundly shaped my life. Yet, my story is about more than this diagnosis. It’s about finding strength, joy, and purpose in sharing my experiences with others.
Through The Wobbles Project, I’m dedicated to creating a community where support, knowledge, and connection thrive. This initiative is an umbrella over various projects that all aim to make a meaningful impact for people with disabilities, beginning with accessible technology. For so many, devices like tablets open up a world of communication, learning, and independence. It’s my goal to provide this “window into the outside world” for those who might not otherwise have the chance.
The Wobbles Project encompasses my personal story, my YouTube channel, and a range of future projects—all united in the mission to empower and inspire. Here’s a closer look at each arm of the project:
Dissecting Wobbles: My memoir, where I share insights on navigating life with Friedreich’s Ataxia, giving readers a deep look at my personal journey and the challenges, regrets, and moments of triumph. You can get an e-copy, or the print version off Amazon.
The Wobbles Project: A YouTube series where I share exercise routines, stretches, and mindset strategies that have helped me live a full life despite my limitations. My hope is to support those newly diagnosed or facing similar challenges, offering not only practical advice but also a positive outlook.
Windows into the Outside World: This is my heart and the first branch to The Wobbles Project. Through this arm, I aim to provide technology to those in need, beginning with tablet donations to kids and adults with disabilities. Technology has been essential to my life, and it’s my goal to pass along the empowerment it brings.
Support and Sustainability: To make this vision a reality, I’ve set up a Patreon portal and a Buy Me a Coffee page, where supporters can contribute monthly or one-time donations. Whether it’s $3, $5, or more, every contribution helps fund equipment, medical support, and project costs, allowing me to reach more individuals who need access to resources.
A Dream for the Future: I have big ideas for The Wobbles Project. One day, I envision it as an official NPO, bringing supporters tax benefits and new ways to get involved. I’d love to take the community on exciting adventures—from bungee jumping and skydiving to music festivals and beach trips. Sharing these moments can break down misconceptions and inspire everyone to embrace life fully.
At the heart of everything I do is the desire to connect, inspire, and give back to a community that often faces challenges alone. If you have questions about supporting The Wobbles Project or are simply curious about my journey, feel free to reach out.
