Big changes are on the way for Bilt cardholders as the program moves away from Wells Fargo and launches three new versions under Bilt Card 2.0 starting February 7, 2026.

Here’s everything you need to know ⤵️

✅ What’s Good

  • Bilt is introducing three new card versions launching on February 7, 2026 — giving cardholders more flexibility with different annual fees and perks.

  • Current cardholders can choose one of the new cards with no hard credit pull (just a soft pull) when transitioning.

  • Your card number stays the same if you transition — so you won’t have to update all your subscriptions or autopays.

  • The big new perk: you’ll be able to earn Bilt Points on mortgage payments, regardless of your lender — a major expansion beyond rent. 🏡

  • If you choose not to transition, your existing Bilt Card will become a Wells Fargo Autograph Card after February 6, 2026, with a new card number — and you’ll earn Wells Points, not Bilt Points.

  • Don’t worry — your Bilt Points, membership, and point balance will carry over during the switch.

⚠️ What’s Less Good / What to Watch

  • There’s still a soft pull for the transition, and some users say it might count as a new credit line for certain credit-card rules (like 5/24).

  • If you let your current card automatically convert into the Autograph, you’ll get a new card number and will need to update any recurring payments.

  • The sign-up bonus details for the new cards haven’t been disclosed yet — and that could make a big difference in value.

  • Some in the community are skeptical about Bilt’s recent changes, suggesting the revamp could be more about stabilizing the program than adding massive new value.

  • If you don’t transition, you’ll lose access to Bilt’s unique rent + mortgage points, since the Autograph Card is a more traditional cash-back / rewards product.

💭 My Take

Sure, switching is a hassle 😅, but the upside here is worth it.
I won’t let my card convert into the Autograph — I’ll probably transition to one of the new Bilt 2.0 cards, most likely the no-fee version to keep things simple and stay in the Bilt ecosystem.

Still, I’m holding off until we see the sign-up bonuses and final benefit details. If those are strong, this could be a solid move for both renters and homeowners alike.

🧭 Bottom Line

  • 🚀 Mortgage + Rent earning = Bilt leveling up

  • 🪙 No-Fee option remains strong for everyday users

  • 💼 Mid & Premium tiers add credits + travel value

  • 👀 Keep an eye on bonus offers before you switch
