Atmosā„¢ Rewards + Summit Visa InfiniteĀ® Are Here

Big changes are here for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines loyalists. After months of anticipation, Alaska has officially introduced Atmosā„¢ Rewards — a brand-new loyalty program that combines Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles into one unified platform.

šŸ“… Starting October 1, 2025, existing Alaska and Hawaiian members will be transitioned into Atmos Rewards automatically, carrying over their balances and status levels.

And alongside the program launch comes a new premium travel card: the Atmosā„¢ Rewards Summit Visa InfiniteĀ® card, issued by Bank of America.

At first glance, both the program and the card are packed with benefits designed to compete directly with other major U.S. airline loyalty ecosystems.

šŸ“ First Impressions

The debut of Atmosā„¢ Rewards feels like a huge step—bringing Alaska and Hawaiian into one loyalty umbrella with no blackout dates, full partner access, and better redemption flexibility. It’s clearly meant to compete with American AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles, and United MileagePlus.

Now, looking at the new Summit Visa InfiniteĀ®, a couple of benefits immediately stand out to me:

  • The 25K Global Companion Award each year, which I’d peg at roughly $300+ in value if used smartly.

  • The 10K status point boost every year, which makes chasing elite status much more realistic.

That said, the raw math on this card doesn’t make it a no-brainer for everyone. If you’re someone who already has status, takes multiple partner or award flights on Alaska/Hawaiian each year, or has family overseas where the 3Ɨ on foreign transactions adds up, then it can really shine.

But if you’re more of an occasional flyer, this won’t be my everyday spending card. The perks are nice, but outside of those high-value scenarios, it’s not going to deliver the same year-round value that something like the Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or even a solid mid-tier travel card can.

In short: not a universal must-have, but potentially amazing if you’re in the sweet spot of Alaska/Hawaiian loyalists with big travel patterns.
