China Airlines has officially announced an exciting new long‑haul route connecting Taipei Taoyuan (TPE) to Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), launching December 3, 2025. The service will operate three times per week, using the ultra‑modern Airbus A350‑900 configured with:

🧳 31 Premium Economy seats
🪑 243 Economy seats
Totaling 306 seats per flight
Route Highlights:
Outbound TPE → PHX is nonstop
Return flight PHX → LAX stopover, then onward to Taipei (PHX → LAX departs ~11:55 AM; LAX → TPE ~2:50 PM, arriving next day)
Scheduled days: Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays
Why It Matters 📌
Phoenix previously had no nonstop connections to Asia, making this a significant step in expanding direct transpacific travel.
The launch is timed to capitalize on demand from TSMC’s $165 billion investment in Phoenix semiconductor operations—fueling business, cargo, and VFR (visiting family and relatives) travel between Taiwan and Arizona .
China Airlines enters the market ahead of rival Starlux, which is set to begin nonstop TPE–PHX flights on January 15, 2026. While Starlux offers truly nonstop service in both directions, China Airlines edges out the timeline by launching earlier
