It’s official: Bilt × Rakuten = next-level rewards

The two companies have announced a new collaboration that gives Bilt members a way to transform their Rakuten cash-back earnings into Bilt Points.

Here’s the scoop:

• Starting Nov 6, 2025, you can link your Rakuten account via the Bilt app, select “Bilt Points” as your payout method for Rakuten cash back, and shop at participating Rakuten retailers to earn Bilt Points.

• For a limited time, the conversion rate is 100 Bilt Points per $1 of Rakuten cash back (i.e., $10 in Rakuten cash back = 1,000 Bilt Points).

• There’s also a welcome bonus: new Rakuten users (who sign up through Bilt) get 2,500 Bilt Points after their first qualifying purchase of $25+.

🔍 What happens after the promotional period?

It’s not “forever” at the 100 points per dollar rate unless you meet certain conditions. After the initial six-month intro, the rates change based on your Bilt status tier:

• For Blue (base) tier Bilt members: you’ll drop to 50 Bilt Points per $1 of Rakuten cash back.

• For Silver, Gold, Platinum Bilt members: the 100 points per dollar rate is expected to continue.

• The six-month promotional window is clarified to extend through the May 15, 2026 payout for Rakuten (covering Q1 2026 earnings) for those who opt-in.

✅ Why this matters

• If you’re using Rakuten for online shopping anyway, this gives you extra value by converting cash-back into a high-value points currency—Bilt Points are often valued around 2.2 cents each in travel redemptions.

• For holiday shopping, this provides a smart strategy: link Bilt + Rakuten now while the 1:1 rate is effective, maximize your shopping through Rakuten, then redeem Bilt Points for travel, rent credits, fitness classes, gift cards, etc.

⚠️ Things to watch / caveats

• The 1:1 conversion rate (100 Bilt Points per $1 cash back) is temporary. If you remain at Blue tier, your rate will halve after promo.

• Points earned via this Rakuten-to-Bilt link do not count toward Bilt elite status. So to maintain the 100 points per dollar rate long-term, you’ll need to aim for Silver+ status via other Bilt activity.

• The payout from Rakuten to Bilt follows Rakuten’s quarterly payout schedule, so there’s a lag between shopping and receiving your Bilt Points.
