Woke up to heavy snow in Whitby again this morning. At 8am everything felt hushed and still, and by 11am it was almost gone, as if it had never really been there. Whitby is so quiet at the moment, and this may well be the quietest it gets all year. Half term in February, weather permitting, will see the crowds return and the town stir again.
Riley and I went out last night hoping to catch the Northern Lights, but they never showed. The sky was hazy, the stars barely visible, and before long we were heading back home to warm up. Even so, it felt good to be out together, waiting and watching for a while.
