About The Travel Tinker
Creating travel blogs to help people get the most from their trips
Nice to meet you. I'm Nick, the bloke behind The Travel Tinker.
I tinker with travel ideas so you don't have to make the same mistakes I did. And there have been a few.
It started in 2007 with a trip to Brazil. I went for a couple of weeks, came back completely hooked, and never really recovered. (Side note: if you ever make it to Brazil, go and see the sloths. Genuinely one of the best things I've done.)
Since then I've built The Travel Tinker into a place for practical, no-nonsense travel guides. Road trips, walking tours, baggage rules that airlines make deliberately confusing, and the small stuff that saves you money and hassle. I also put together bespoke itineraries if you'd rather someone else did the planning.
Here's the thing though. I write everything myself, I research everything myself, and the site runs on coffee and stubbornness. There's no big team behind this. Just me, a laptop, and far too many browser tabs open at once.
So if a guide has saved you time, money, or a bit of stress at an airport, buying me a coffee is a lovely way to say thanks. It keeps the guides free and keeps me writing them.
Thank you, honestly. You're the reason I keep doing this. 🙏🏼
