The Thunder Perfect Mind is the name of a trilogy that has been an on and off project for over fifteen years, the seeds of which were in my head since 2010-ish. It evolved into a romantic Neon Genesis Evangelion with heavy Gnostic themes--minus the "giant robots."
It takes place in a far-off future utopia (which seems like a dream at this point) in which every problem (economic, environmental, social, political) is solved--save one. It's been over a century since initial alien contact (the Grigori) and now another group of aliens (the Archons) threaten the peace and stability of this futuristic utopia. Only pairs of divine chosen humans, called Syzygies can defeat them. One Syzygy, Alice and Amadeus, collectively known as The Fifth Parent, are the main characters who are recruited by the Grigori under mysterious circumstances.
Divine Spark Syzygy is book one of the trilogy.
Synopsis: An ancient alien race called the Grigori return to Neo-Gaia to see how far Humanity has evolved. However, their enemies, the Archons, have other plans for the world and its people. Hopeful to win this new War in the Heavens, the Grigori have chosen to utilize a new tactic: Syzygy. As powerful as these special human couples are, they have past personal issues to confront as well as their deadly foe. Soon, the fate of Humanity will be decided with one Pair already in the pathway leading to the door of the next level of evolution.

All chapter titles will alternate between references to the Nag Hammadi group of Gnostic texts and lines from the Gnostic poem "The Thunder Perfect Mind", which is where I got the name for the book trilogy.
Definition--Syzygy [siz-i-jee]
noun, plural syzygies.
1. any two related things, either alike or opposite.
2. in Gnosticism, male-female pairings of the emanations known as aeons
The second definition also later inspired the titles for the second and third books, as "Syzygy" was the first, since it was the word being defined.
