I've been thinking about the sequel to Champion's Escape, Book 2 in the R.I.S.E. Series. A.K.A. Raider's Betrayal.
If you don't know already, the R.I.S.E Series is designed so that each book can be read as a stand alone, but it follows the overarching destruction of SYN Corp. And in the final book, the whole cast will be united.
In book 2, you see Chance's (CE) hometown a week after the events of Champion's Escape. You follow Bex Rowan as he is framed for something a rebel did. He goes on a journey to clear his name and in the process he realizes that he's been fighting for the wrong side, joining the rebels.
What I've been specifically thinking about is Bex's relationship with his little sister. Why? Because I think I want to lean into that relationship. I don't think I want his little sister to just be an extra that doesn't add anything to the story. Because the truth is, our siblings impact us more than we think. They may be our worst enemies at times, but they can also be our best friends and the only ones who stands up for us when it matters most.
I've already written the first draft (earlier this year), so my plan is to see how I can really make their relationship stand out within the second draft.
