My story ideas come from many different places. I make stories built around specific characters, I think of hypothetical situations, I see a gap and decide to write something to fill it. But one of the more interesting ways is through my dreams.
I have always had vivid dreams. Not all of them are cut out to be novels, but every now and then, I get one that I just can't stop thinking about after I wake up. And this week, I have had two.
Comparable titles for the first one would be Twister, Avatar, and Atlantis smashed into one. The second one was like a dystopian Flubber or Absent Minded Professor.
I wrote down everything that happened in my dreams to save the idea for later, but if I could predict how their stories would be, I'd expect them to both be stand alone novels. I don't know when in the future I'd write them because, as I mentioned in a previous post, I plotted out my next six novels. So maybe once those are out of the way, I can work on these.
But the important thing when you have so many ideas is to keep writing down your ideas when you come up with it so that you'll always have it for when you're ready.
