Colorado, Rocky Mountains, and SNOW!!! ❄️🌨️

Feb 07, 2026

How can a person live for 42 years and never see snow... never.

That's what I asked myself every winter.

Every year, my wife and I would talk about taking a winter trip somewhere to see the stuff. To finally give myself something that I have dreamt of for as long as I can remember... and finally.... finally we set a date and decided to do it. We booked our flights for the most "snow optimum" month, packed our bags, and got on a plane (well.... 3 actually), and found ourselves at the bottom of one of the most beautiful mountains I have ever seen.

It was 32 degrees when we stepped out of that airport. It didn't even feel that cold, which was odd to me because in Southwest Florida, 32 degrees is miserable! We saw a burger place, in-&-out burger, and we decided that of all places to have our first meal of our trip, this would be it. This was when we stepped into an alternate reality.... Christmas Tree Bushes?! They really exist!

imageChristmas Tree Bushes?! Oh yes... they DO exist! (at this point, i would have believed in Big Foot before a christmas tree bush just randomly growing in a parking lot)

After discovering the 8th wonder of the world (the christmas tree bushes), we pulled into the driveway of our temporary home, and on the ground... before my very eyes.... snow.

SNOW!

But this snow wasn't fresh. It was DAYS old. Nearly melted... and calling my name. Yes. CALLING MY NAME.

imageThe snow betrayed me! Once I lovingly scooped it up to appreciate its snowy goodness.... it decided to burn the shit out of me!!! The AUDACITY!

imageLong story short.... the snow is NOT your friend.

Not even a little bit.

After realizing that snow and skin don't mix well... the next day I made sure to wear gloves.

More to come soon......
