À propos The Public Records Officer Podcast
A podcast that makes bureaucrats nervous because someone noticed
Hi, I’m Jamie Nixon... recovering public servant, open government nerd, and the voice behind The Public Records Officer Podcast (PROP).
The show is powered by civic outrage, deleted Microsoft Teams chats, legal filings, redacted feelings... and a mostly healthy amount of coffee.
I investigate public records abuse in Washington State where agencies set chats to auto-delete after just 7-days, legislators demand to work in secret, and the powerful redact your public records like it’s a sport hoping you don't notice. I file requests, dig through the footnotes, call out the cover-ups, and try to make it entertaining along the way.
Of course... the records requests, the podcast production, and the legal research all takes time, money, and bandwidth.
If you believe transparency shouldn’t come with a paywall, a delay, or a legal bill, please consider supporting the show.
Every coffee helps fund:
Public records requests (those aren't free anymore)
Hosting and editing costs
Legal filings when the state stonewalls
The caffeine I need to stay awake reading 2,000-page PDFs
If you’ve ever thought, “Someone should do something about that..." That's me... I'm the one doing something about that. With your help, I can keep going.
Thanks for backing the mission.
Jamie
