Spring is one of my FAVORITE seasons (FALL is the other one). Spring represents a fresh start, renewal and growth. It's a season of renewing and fresh starts. True to form, I am reinventing myself and my brand. I am fine tuning my life. I am letting go of what no longer serves me and bringing what brings me joy.
I am still trying to figure it out. I am figuring out how to show up as my best self online and in person every single day. What is the end goal? Freedom! Sure I'd like to have a lot of money and a big house and a nice car blah blah blah, but for me, the ultimate measure of success is freedom. If you are making a lot of money but your are stuck at your 9-5 with 3 to 4 weeks vacation, are you really free? I would like to wake up every single morning and decide on what I do for the day. I have wanted that type of freedom since I was a teenager.
As I figure more things out, I will definitely update you. I do want to let you know about this update though, I have decided that I want my coloring and activity book brand, Harmony Blossom Books to cater to African Americans. I struggled with this decision for months because I do not want to be exclusionary. I have realized that we as African Americans and underrepresented and I want to do what I can to close that disparity. I love everyone, regardless of race, but I am finding that it is important for me to hold space for my own community. Well, that got deep real fast. But that is what I mean by I am rebranding and rediscovering myself and how I want to move in the future. Nothing will change about the name or anything, only the type of content I create and the audience that I am trying to reach.
