Keep Going: Pushing Through When Life Feels Heavy

May 05, 2025

Let’s be honest—life isn’t always light and pretty. Sometimes it hits hard. It knocks the wind out of you. You’re doing your best, holding everything together, and out of nowhere, life throws something at you that you didn’t ask for and definitely didn’t see coming. And in those moments, it’s tempting to just stop. To retreat. To give up. Ask me how I know????

But here’s what I’ve learned: strength isn’t about never falling apart. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s about pushing forward even when everything in you wants to quit.

Adversity will visit all of us at some point. Whether it’s heartbreak, health struggles, financial stress, grief, betrayal, burnout—whatever form it takes, it’s never easy. But even in the middle of the storm, even when the path feels foggy and uncertain, you still have the power to keep going.

And that doesn’t mean hustling through the pain or pretending everything’s fine. It means choosing to move forward with gentleness. It means showing up for yourself in the smallest ways—getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, taking one deep breath at a time. It means giving yourself grace on the days when everything feels too heavy, and reminding yourself that even baby steps are still steps.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to keep going.

You don’t have to feel strong to be strong.

You just have to take the next step, no matter how small it feels.

Pushing forward doesn’t always look powerful. Sometimes it looks like crying through your journaling session. Sometimes it looks like canceling plans to protect your peace. Sometimes it’s choosing rest, other times it’s choosing to fight for yourself one more time. There’s no one right way to move through adversity—but moving through it at all is a victory.

When life feels like it’s trying to break you, remember this: you are more resilient than you know. The fact that you’re still here, still trying, still hoping—that’s proof.

You don’t have to carry it all at once. Just carry what you can, today. And then do the same tomorrow.

Eventually, the heaviness lifts. The clarity returns. The joy starts to find its way back. And when you look back, you’ll realize that everything you went through didn’t defeat you—it built you.

You are allowed to feel the weight, but you’re also allowed to rise.

So don’t give up. Not on yourself. Not on your healing. Not on your future.

Adversity may be part of your story—but it doesn’t get to be the end.
