I hope everyone is well and enjoying the run-up to Christmas. I'm determined to enjoy the holiday period this year, particularly as last year was entirely overshadowed by the whole COVID affair, which undoubtedly affected the festivities for just about everyone. This year I will be taking 2-weeks off work and trying to relax and recuperate a bit.
I am planning a few days during my time off at my woodland cabin that has featured in a few of my previous videos. I have a 24-hour ration pack from the French military all ready to go (in fact, the label says 'Best Before Sept 2021') so I'll be packing up my kit and trekking out to the woodlands very soon - I will of course be taking my camera, so that's something to look forward to in the early days of 2022.
I received an unexpected box in the post this week - somewhat perplexed I opened it to discover an amazing Homburg hat, that had been sent along from a good friend and subscriber from the USA. With great trepidation I tried it on, wondering how I would break the news to my friend that I don't really think that this flamboyant hat would have a place in my wardrobe - but these thoughts soon dissolved as I wore the hat and discovered my mood and general disposition rising to match the ebullient nature of this splendid titfer (titfer-tat = hat, cockney rhyming slang). What an amazing gift, which I now wear on special occasions and at times I need a character boost!
