This is one of those historical oddities that was definitely before my time, and probably before your time as well. Author Steven Heller documents the foundation of this short-lived niche magazine I suspect was intended for fetishists. That was the impression I certainly would have had when I was first researching content for my blog back in the late aughts. The content depicted in Heller's blog post seems fairly tame, so we will count our blessings. It looks like the publication of its first issue coincided with the punk explosion of 1977 (so I can see the perception that part of the magazine's content was sincerely an attack on the beauty industry), and would have been about a decade before Sinead O'Connor made her trademark shaved head/buzz cut a striking statement for an otherwise mainstream pop recording artist. So, if nothing else, here is an artifact from that era when women shaving their heads was almost unthinkable.
