Games like this used to live at the table. Now new AI tools make it possible to play tabletop-style games directly on a phone, with an AI running the game system.
MaOS - Master of Operational Settlement - is an AI-installed game for people who like strategy, science fiction, and hard choices. The player becomes a Planetary Settlement Master: the person responsible for turning an unknown environment into a viable expedition base.
This is not a chatbot adventure built from a short prompt. MaOS runs as a structured BOIS-based game protocol inside an AI session. The AI tracks the visible world, resources, risks, fatigue, infrastructure, incomplete knowledge, and the consequences of every decision.
There is no perfect map and no safe path prepared in advance. Technical, ecological, logistical, and human problems overlap. Each turn asks what can be done now, what must wait, what should be tested, and what is too dangerous to assume.
Level 1 is available now as a prototype install package. Future levels will expand the scale of settlement, pressure, and consequences.
MaOS is a game about responsibility before certainty.
Not just a prompt.
