Greetings, dear pond supporters! This spring and summer I was blessed with a cardinal family in the shrubbery in my frontyard. I heard the babies chirping and saw the watchful momma bird on the nest and nearby. Considering how close I was taking pictures, I'm amazed that I didn't get dive bombed in the face. I unfortunately did not get a good picture of the chicks but the one below is the best I could do.

I love their light brown mowawk feather crests and their round, skeptical bug eyes.
The momma cardinal was understandably skeptical and watchful around a sus predatory mammal like me but I got a lot of lovely photos of her watching me.

Finally, I snapped this lovely Robin singing up a storm on a grey day. I hope he makes you smile, too.
Do you have any birds in your yard this summer, dear pond supporters? Please leave a comment or question below and thank you for supporting my creativity at Technicolor Lily Pond.
