Dear child,
I loved you the minute you came to my class. Through the side eyes and mumbling, I still adored you and saw the potential of the wonderful person you would become.
The year may not have been easy. We have laughed together, frustrated with each other, but we always reconciled. You knew I cared and that was what mattered.
I listened to you. Your anger and troubles. I heard you and respected you in a way that surprised you. I respected your resilience and what you overcame to get to school. It’s not easy.
Some of you had to help younger siblings or work with parents. You still tried your best and that’s all that mattered. Even as you move on know that I am here, God willing, if you ever need me.
