Hi, I’m Dr. Tea Nguyen — podiatrist, direct care advocate, and host of The Direct Care Podcast for Specialists. I started this podcast because I saw too many talented physicians drowning in bureaucracy, burnt out by a system that rewarded volume over value.
I believe we deserve better — as doctors and as patients.
After stepping away from insurance-based medicine, I rediscovered what it means to truly care for someone: to listen deeply, to make space for healing, and to practice with purpose. I created the Direct Care Podcast to spotlight those stories and bring you along in my own journey. To remind us that freedom is possible although sometimes messy too. That autonomy is not a dream. And that specialists, too, can thrive outside the system.
