Are We Just Born Lucky — Or Do We Have to Work at It?
Are some people simply born lucky?
You know the type.
They seem to land on their feet no matter what happens. They meet the right person at exactly the right moment. They find opportunities almost accidentally. They win competitions, get unexpected breaks, stumble across money when they need it, or somehow manage to turn disasters into opportunities.
And then there are the rest of us.
The ones who seem to spend half our lives wondering why the universe keeps handing everyone else the winning lottery ticket.
So, are some people genuinely born lucky?
Or is luck something we can actually cultivate?
I think the answer is a little more complicated than either extreme.
There is undoubtedly an element of random chance in life. None of us chooses the family we are born into, the country we are born in, our genetics, our early circumstances or many of the opportunities that initially come our way.
Some people really do start the race several metres ahead of everyone else.
But here's where it gets interesting.
Luck isn't always about what happens to you. Sometimes it's about what you do with what happens to you.
And that is something we can work on. Here's a blessing for the rest of this week to be the best ever - don;t wait for the Universe to hand you the perfect situation.
Do things now.
With less, with a bad attitude, with a feeling of self doubt with no help if you need to. Don;t wait for that better time.
We never know how much time we really have.
