After 3 months of running Synopackage Proxy Repository we've recorded over 100.000 (valid) requests to this new feature!
Below is a chart showing number of requests per day. Red line is an 7-day average, while the blue line shows daily count. As you can see the number of requests is still growing. Now there is about 3.000 requests per day and it breaks previous record every few days. Week by week there is 15-20% more requests than it was week before (last week was: 19.000 requests).
Together with requests we gather information about models and CPU architectures of Synology's devices. Wonder which model is the most popular? So here are top 5 models: DS918+ (11%), DS220+ (9%), DS920+ (8%), DS214Play (5%) and DS215j (5%). Top 3 CPU architectures are: geminilake (23%), apollolake (18%) and RTD1296 (7%).
For now there are 2 main channels of our repository: All & SynopackageChoice. The distribution between them is 72% to 28%.
Remember, this functionality is still in beta phase. The main reason of this are HTTP timeouts. There are many timeouts in querying the source servers. We try to avoid them by using internal cache (per CPU architecture), but still problem exists. However the problem is most likely on the source server side, so if anyone would add this source directly to DSM, they would might have the same problem.
