How to ask people's name in Chinese? There are so many different ways, depending on the situations.
Today we will share 2 simple ways to ask for names of the others.

你叫什么名字?- nǐ jiào shén me míng zi?- What is your name?
我叫 Lisa。-wǒ jiào Lisa.-I'm Lisa。

你姓什么?- nǐ xìng shénme?- What is your surname?
我姓张。- wǒ xìng zhāng .- My surname is Zhang.

Chinese surnames are used by Han Chinese and Sinicized ethnic groups in China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, and among overseas Chinese communities around the world such as Singapore and Malaysia. Chinese surnames are given first for names written in Chinese, which is the opposite of Western naming convention where surnames come last.
According to the latest research of the Ministry of Public Security of China, there are totally 6150 surnames (last names) in use in China nowadays.China has nearly 1.4 billion people live in the country and the top 100 Chinese surnames cover around 85% of the total population. 张is the third common Chinese surname as at 2021.
