Watercolor Illustration, Art Commission
I'm Sara, founder of Swil Arts Studio, where I've transitioned from almost a decade as a Google software engineer to watercolor artistry. Polish-born and San Diego-based, I create dreamy scenes using the line and wash technique, inspired by urban landscapes, animals, everyday objects, and food. My computer science background brings precision to my art, while my creative passion infuses it with emotion, revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Through original pieces and commissions, I aim to bring transformative energy to spaces, unveiling the beauty in our world.
My artwork graces diverse spaces from small businesses to personal collections and can be found in shops across San Diego and even in Thailand.
When I'm not in the studio, I actively nurture my well-being by seeking balance through practices like yoga, offering Reiki healing, or guiding sound bath sessions. You might also find me exploring local farmers markets for inspiration or hiking with my partner to regulate my nervous system and bring me a sense of peace.
As a global adventurer having visited 50 countries, my experiences enrich both my perspective and my art. I'm also an interior design enthusiast whose home was featured in "Apartment Therapy," an award-winning short story writer, and a passionate cook who delights in creating plant-centric meals inspired by my travels.
I believe in a world where everyone, regardless of identity, feels seen, validated, and celebrated, and I strive to reflect this in my life and art. As a queer artist, I bring my whole self to my work, infusing my unique perspective into every piece I create. Through my artistic vision, I aim to harness the healing power of beauty, believing that surrounding oneself with art can profoundly nurture the soul.
