What began as a distant dream became our everyday life on 1 July 2022, when we cast off from the British Virgin Islands aboard S/Y My Motu, our Amel Super Maramu.
Since then, My Motu has carried us more than 20,000 nautical miles, through the Caribbean, the Panama Canal and across the Pacific to Fiji.
We are Aagje and Jeroen. Through stories, photographs and books, we share the freedom and beauty of life at sea, but also the difficult passages, unexpected repairs, remarkable encounters and realities behind the postcard-perfect anchorages.
At anchor, Aagje also writes. Wild Side – What the Sea Hides is a suspenseful sailing novel about freedom, friendship and secrets at sea. Dot’s Journey – Voices of the Ocean takes young readers into the extraordinary world beneath the waves. Both stories are available in Dutch and English.
