I want to take the time to thank each and every one of you for supporting my work. It is overwhelming, to say the least! I delivered about 50 face shields to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora Illinois and I am still making more. In addition, I am told that there is a need for 'Ear Guards'. These are small straps that are used with the masks that hook on the ears. People that are not used to wearing those types of masks get chafed and blistered ears and these ear guards prevent that. Again, I can't thank you enough for your donation. When I started this I had no intention of asking for assistance but I had a lot of people asking me, "How can I help?" I understand the desire to want to help thus my 3d printing but I had no answer since the printers do a lot of the work for me and then the assembly of the face shields is pretty much a one-person job. I saw someone else use the Buy Me A Coffee site and I thought this might be the way for people to help with this much-needed service.
The 3d printing community has stepped up and there are many people I know in the Star Wars costuming community as well as folks I know through the 3d printing hobby dedicating their printers to this work. Some have whole 3d printing businesses that have suspended their money-making efforts and now exclusively produce these much-needed items.
I will send out occasional updates so you can see that your donation is truly appreciated not only by me but also by the first responders, nurses, and doctors on the front lines who will be and are using these items.
